The Science Behind Beauty
It has been given that beauty is the “
a combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight”. Beauty is obviously a very subjective notion and it can certainly ascertained that beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. However in the realm of maths and science it has been put forth that beauty can defined by quantifiable measurements and proportions.

Beauty is a huge industry and it is no secret that many of us have succumbed to the pressures of looking good that modern society has somehow manage to impose on us. Women don’t seek out clinics to get a face full of botox Bournemouth way just because they feel like it, it is because they have seen countless airbrushed images of women their age and are made to believe that they to should look as smooth as them.
Many studies have been undertaken to define the perfect measurements and proportions for what can be classed as the most beautiful of faces and bodies. Hundreds of photos have been collected of those who are deemed the most beautiful of people on our planet and their faces have been analysed and scrutinised and tabulated for findings in order to seek these ‘golden proportions’. Researchers have surmised that symmetry is the key to beauty, proclaiming that babies spent more time staring at pictures of symmetrical faces that they did at asymmetrical faces.

Further exploration in to scientists findings concerned with defining beauty discuss what males in different cultures find attractive and visa versa, there are a plethora of variables depending on age, sex and nationality. However if you do believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder there can be no universal science behind beauty for each one of us is beautiful in our own unique way,
